The MicroBusiness Exchange was developed because just about everyday in my business life I am running across amazing entrepreneurs. We, including me, have questions. We all hit walls. We are forging ahead. Sometimes in great leaps, sometimes with just little bitty steps. We are all on the move…. With passion! We care very deeply about what we are doing.
I seem to be the hub for questions. I don’t know how many times I have heard sentences start with:
I just need to talk to someone….
I don’t know how to…..
Do you know anyone who….
Where do I go??? I need help!
So, The MicroBusiness Exchange was created as a way for all of us to interact and inter-query from a focused place of empowered permission…. Zen….. better living, better peace, better entrepreneurs.

What is the purpose of the MicroBusiness Exchange?
Crossing the Zen Divide.
The MicroBusiness Exchange works on the premise that if we Zen our lives everything else will follow including business so these once-per month training, fellowship and mastermind sessions intertwine the principles of yoga and personal empowerment with your vision for your life and business.
What is the MicroBusiness Exchange?
The MicroBusiness Exchange is an Empowerment Council (mastermind group) of business minded women mentoring each other to empowered peace and permission within their lives, business and personal. This training is based on the selected principles presented in My Personal Achievement Plan, a marketing plan for a company called YOU!
Who is eligible?
Female entrepreneurs, management and executive level career women and women with professional and vocational licenses.
What is the MicroBusiness Exchange Format?
Each MicroBusiness Exchange Orientation consists of:
- Three 7 hour meetings.
We meet once per month for seven hours each session. - One 2 hour optional Power of One Breath! Living Energy Empowerment Yoga Session
- EC members have 120 day access to the MBEX Members Only Forum.
What is a typical MicroBusiness Exchange Agenda?
We start at 10:00 a.m. We finish at 4:00 p.m.
The doors open at 9:30 a.m.
Each session includes:
- Living Energy Empowerment Yoga
- Breathe! Relax and Release Training
- Selected topics and exercises from My Personal Achievement Plan – a marketing plan for a company called YOU!
- Lunch is potluck; nothing keeps us more interconnected than food.
- MBEX Members vision discussion over lunch.
- MBEX member driven discussion on how to relate MPAP topic to their business.

What is an Empowerment Council?
Entrepreneurs and career women we have power! We have referral power! We have reference power! We have information power! We have hug power! We have stand up power! We have economic power and we have "moves your butt power!" Our power is together power. Therefore an Empowerment Council is a powerful mastermind group. An Empowerment Council is….
- A group of peers that come together for the purpose of advancing their business or their lifestyle visions.
- A formalized group with structured meeting times, goals and purposes.
- Committed to the overall advancement of each others’ visions.
- A group that interacts purposefully to expand ideas, knowledge and resources. The members mentor each other through this exchange.
- Seeking to enhance opportunities via collaboration.
- Engaged, active and open.
- Sensitive to each member’s, physical, emotional and financial condition.
- A structured forum with a set amount of meetings. There is a beginning and an end to each Empowerment Council. It is not an infinite or continuing organization, however may renew via group agreement.
An Empowerment Council Member is NOT a:
- Therapist
- Rescuer
- Dominate
- Business looking for clients, jobs or money.
The Characteristics of a Purposeful Empowerment Council are:
- Three-to-eight people, in general. (We will break into groups this size.)
- Balanced experience levels. Peer-to-Peer is different than Expert-to-Student. A blend of expertise is good.
- Committed through time and/or money.
- Sets regular meeting times, has an agreement regarding meeting structure and parameters, and sets agreed structure for conduct and etiquette.
- Sets ground rules for personal, group and professional contacts. Should not expect that “business” should or must come for their EC mentors.
- Interlaces personal and group knowledge with experts, as appropriate, to accomplish overall goals.
- Expects and should receive trust and confidentiality.
Your Responsibilities to the Empowerment Council are to be:
- Clear about your needs and why you are participating.
- Filter information. Not everything mentioned will be a fit for your business, budget or experience level.
- Not sensitive or take suggestions personally.
- Honest about your physical, emotional or financial condition.
- Be organized and clear about your state of confusion.
- Available. Participate freely and without reservation. Comment with honesty and conviction.
Going Full Circle.
Recently I got a phone call from a friend asking me how to trademark an idea and slogan for a business. I told her that I have been using legalzoom.com. We went on and through the conversation we outlined the week ahead. We commiserated about our marketing and how to find our respective niches. I had several meetings that I was very optimistic about.
As I went through the week, I meet with several entrepreneurs in differing stages of business. We went through what I have come to understand is a progression of questions, theirs and mine. Inevitably we would ask if you know "how to" or did you know... somebody????
At the end of the week, my last meeting, the lady I was meeting with said that she had asked a friend of hers about trademarks, she said that Legal something..... And I said legalzoom.com. Her friend was my friend. The information had gone full circle.
